Close Up Photographer of the Year 2021 – Shortlist

I was delighted to make the shortlist of Close Up Photographer of the Year in 2021.  CUPOTY is the premier worldwide Close Up Photography competition, with a nose-bleedingly high standard, and showcases pretty much the finest close up photography that the planet has to offer.  

This was my first time entering, and I was delighted to make it onto the shortlist with a couple of pics: the above shot, Flow, from the Grimersta River in Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, on a particularly dark and stormy day.

And the below shot, Fire and Brimstone, part of my Carnival of the Grotesques project, a series based around close up shots of a log in our local park.
